Recording In Montserrat With Sir George Martin
David Briggs: “One of my favourite stories of those times is me enthusiastically and naively saying to George Martin…”Gee George, where are we going to mix this record”?..his reply was…”WE’RE not going to mix this record anywhere..I’M going to mix this record”..me..rather meekly..”oh, ok..” George 1..dB none..touche ..hehe”
Beeb Birtles: “Look, I don’t care how macho you guys may be, but every now and then Glenn and I got the urge to get in touch with our feminine side. Glenn at the AIR studio pool on Montserrat.”
John Farnham – Uncovered
Little River Band founding member Graeham Goble wrote and co-wrote nine of the ten songs and produced John Farnham’s Uncovered album in 1980. Many Little River Band alumni performed on the album such as Mal Logan, Barry Sullivan, Derek Pellicci, David Briggs. Ric Formosa arranged and conducted the strings. Tommy Emmanual also features on guitar. Graeham had seen John Farnham perform ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ on The Don Lane Show, Channel 9, Australia, November 22nd, 1979. Graeham then set out to write and record this album and reignite Farnham’s career. Within three years John found himself the lead singer of Little River Band, replacing Glenn Shorrock.
