Often called a “supergroup in reverse”, ZOOT is the band that started it all for Australian rock legends Darryl Cotton, Beeb Birtles, Rick Springfield and Rick Brewer. This classic compilation gathers all of the ZOOT singles, including the hits ‘One Times, Two Times, Three Times, Four’ (written and produced by The Twilights’ Terry Britten), ‘Monty and Me’ (produced by Ian “Molly” Meldrum and featuring a whistling Johnny Farnham), and the band’s blistering hard rock cover of The Beatles’ ‘Eleanor Rigby’.
Originally released after the band broke up in 1971, this remastered reissue comes on eye-popping orange vinyl. ZOOT OUT.

Zoot – Life In A Northern Town
EMI released Archaeology on 23 November 2018. “EMI signed a very young and naïve ZOOT back in 1968,” founding member Beeb Birtles says. “Fast-forward 50 years and ZOOT is thrilled to be back with EMI, where it all started, for the release of ZOOT ARCHAEOLOGY.”
Darryl Cotton died in 2012 just after the band reformed for a cruise in the Caribbean. The album includes a new recording of ‘Life in a Northern Town’. “Sitting in the studio listening to Darryl’s solo vocal gave us all goosebumps,” Rick says. Beeb has recorded a new third verse. “Fifty-four years after I met Darryl, we have a new ZOOT song,” Beeb smiles. “Thanks to Rick, I got to sing one more time with my best friend.”
